Fr. Ray has been a priest for 42 years. He was at his previous parish for 14.5 years. He also has had a position in campus ministry for 16 years, and was a parish priest for 5 years before that. Father Raymond has been serving Our Lady of Mercy Parish since February of 2018. Fr. Ray is devoted to the people of the Parish. He enjoys gathering parishioners together in volunteer programs, which helps build community among the faithful. Some of the programs Fr. Ray has created at OLM is Adopt-a-Plantar, the Altar Society, Legion of Mary, and the Building & Grounds Committee.
Within these groups parishioners have come forward to plant flowers in our many plantars on the property. Some Parishioners meet every Saturday morning to prepare the altar for Mass every weekend. Others meet every Monday morning to pray to Our Blessed Mother and reach out to our Parish community. Fr. Ray has also created a Buildings & Grounds Committee for parishioners to work together with him to address issues concerning the property and the buildings which make up Our Lady of Mercy Parish.
Fr. Ray has also implemented other programs for volunteers to get involved in the Parish, such as the Lazarus Committee. He is guiding volunteers in many ways to comfort those who have lost a loved one. He has also implimented programs to enrich the faith of the parish by meeting with the Praise and Worship Committee and the Pastoral Council to name a few.
Fr. Ray is also very dedicated in visiting the sick and homebound members of the Parish. He administers the Sacrament Anointing of the Sick and brings Eucharist to those in need of spiritual and emotional nourishment.
He enjoys talking with the Parishioners so that he can get to know them and their families.
