Using church offertory envelopes is a wonderful way to give a portion back to God from the gifts God has given you. It allows you to make a commitment to Our Lady of Mercy Parish and be connected to the church as a parishioner. It is as if you are wrapping a gift for your church by enclosing your donation in an envelope.
Also, by using envelopes, the Parish Office can send you a contribution letter at the end of the year to be used to apply the amount you have given to OLM as charitable contributions and used as a tax deduction.
If you are interested in receiving envelopes, please call the Parish Office and request them at 860-747-6825.
Perhaps you have lived through the loss of a relative or friend and have not known quite how to express your loss in a meaningful way. Have you encountered other occasions such as a 25th wedding anniversary, retirement of a friend, a birthday or a special event when selecting an appropriate gift may have been difficult?
Our Lady of Mercy Parish Community offers you a way to recognize these occasions through our Memorial Sharing Memories Program. "Sharing Memories" makes available an alternate gesture of thoughtfulness for any occasion.
How does the program work? Memorial Gift envelopes are available through Our Lady of Mercy Parish Office. A memorial gift may be made in memory of someone dear or in tribute to a living relative or friend. Simply fill out the envelope, indicating the charitable recipient and enclose your gift.
Your thoughtfulness will be appreciated. Upon receipt of the envelope, we will mail a memorial card to the person honored if living or to the family of the deceased. The amount of the gift is not mentioned but the name of the person making the gift and the area benefitting from the gift is noted.
Your gift will be acknowledged. Another card will be sent to the person making the memorial gift. This card will also include the donor's name. Also noted is the amount of the gift for the donor's records of charitable contributions.
Your donation along with other donations made to our "Sharing Memories" Fund will purchase those items needed for worship and devotion.
Past donations have enabled us to acquire Concelebration Chalices, Communion Pattens, Vestments, Water and Wine Cruets as well as other worship items.
If you have any questions about this program, please do not hesitate to call the Parish Office at 860-747-6825 for more information. What a beautiful way to gift someone in whom their church means or has meant so much to them.
THOSE WHO SHARE OUR LIVES, SHARE OUR MEMORIES
Did you know that if you pass away without a Will the State of Connecticut has one for you? The State's distribution of your property may not reflect your intentions. Why not write your own, and consider a gift to support Our Lady of Mercy Church in your Will. It is a wonderful way of saying, "I love you" to your family and friends and to prevent uncertainty about how you want your assets distributed. For more information please contact Father Dawson.
